Prosthetic Illusions has been providing services to the Rocky Mountain area since 1981. It was founded by Barbara Spohn-Lillo, a Board Certified Clinical Anaplastologist (CCA), and CF-m (Certified Mastectomy Fitter).

While many people may be familiar with the title ocularist, the term ‘anaplastologist’ is usually not as familiar.  The primary focus of an ocularist is creating artificial eyes, whereas an anaplastologist has further training in the art and science of restoring other malformed or absent parts of the human body through artificial means.  The skills required are not simply a matter of technique, but a combination of art, technology, creativity, and attention to detail.

Prosthetic Illusions specializes in custom-made artificial eyes, facial prosthetics – including attachments to bone anchored implants, partial digits, custom and non-custom breast prostheses.  This company is registered with the FDA.

Prosthetic Illusions has developed a reputation with both physicians and patients for high quality and excellent service.  The primary goal is to satisfy the patient.  This is achieved by working closely as a team with the patient’s doctor.

Most insurance companies cover the services offered by Prosthetic Illusions.  However, when patient payment is required, Visa, MasterCard, Care Credit, and personal checks are accepted.  Co-pays are required at the time of service, and our wonderful staff will file all insurance pre-authorizations and claims.  Initial consultations are always free of charge.  If an appeal is needed, we will be happy to assist.
