My name is Peter Mentz, co-owner of Affordable Door Co., Inc. I have over 33 years experience in the garage door industry.
In 1995, I founded this company in Denver, Colorado, and within six months was joined by my wife, Mary Anne, who is now a co-owner. We feel very fortunate to be able to work together day after day, building our business and simultaneously strengthening our relationship.
Because Mary Anne and I are involved in every estimate, service call and installation, we can truly say that Affordable Door is a family run business. We are both well versed in all aspects of our business.
With Mary Anne handling most of the phone calls, we are very sensitive to the needs of our customers, and can juggle schedules easily. Our service repair turn–around time generally is within one or two days.

“I want to say thank you for the help and assistance that you provided during a phone call a couple of weeks ago. I was having some challenges with my 16′ wood (heavy) garage door and called to possibly set up a service call to come out to address the problems. I spoke with Mary Anne who was extremely nice and helpful. She walked me through a couple of trouble shooting points and after a series of questions about the door and some directions we landed on the possibility that the garage door opener might need an adjustment on the unit itself. Mary Anne walked me through where the up/down tension adjustments were and to what degree to turn the screws. She was very thorough, helpful and concerned about safety. Short story, shorter…my garage door is now working perfectly and all I need to do now is lube the rollers and I think I should be good for awhile. I sincerely mean it when I say, I was extremely impressed with Mary Anne’s knowledge, professionalism, and willingness to help over the telephone and spend the time to talk with me. I am in the customer service business and I know what outstanding service is and Mary Anne is definitely outstanding.
